Description:
This is a medical-surgical nursing position. The unit has 25 beds and the patient-to-nurse ratio is 5-6:1 during the day and 6:1 unit is staffed with a unit secretary and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians during the day. At night, there are 2-3 Patient Care Technicians available. Equipment used on the unit includes Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry.
The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling includes every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with weekdays being flexible. Floating may occur, primarily between medical-surgical units. Patient experience requirements include BSSR and hourly rounding. Advanced skills performed on the unit include IV and Foley catheter placement. The required uniform is black or royal blue scrubs. Prospective candidates should be aware of any relevant unit-specific policies and guidelines.
