Research Technician, Pharmacology

Job Description

The Siciliano lab from the Department of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University is seeking a self-motivated Research Assistant I. Our lab research focuses on addiction and sensory neuroscience using cutting‑edge technology to trace neural sensory tracts in combination with immunohistochemistry, optogenetics, in vivo fiber photometry, and behavioral pharmacology in rodents. The individual hired for this position will be directly supervised by PI Siciliano and expected to assist with experiments.

• Assist with mouse colonies management (experience with rodent colony management preferred)
• Experience with rodent behavior is preferred
• Experience with programmable microprocessors is a plus
• Assist senior lab members in maintaining laboratory inventories and ensuring proper record‑keeping
• Prepare reagents and other laboratory materials as needed
• Take initiative in delivering accurate results on time
• Collaborate and respond effectively to team needs
• Communicate clearly with lab members to ensure smooth workflow
• Self‑motivation with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability is necessary

• Bachelor's Degree required
