Vanderbilt University’s Wankowicz Lab at the Center for AI in Protein Dynamics is hiring a part-time Data Scientist to work on machine learning and bioinformatics approaches for understanding conformational entropy in protein structures. The lab focuses on thermodynamics, enzyme function, and computational modeling of conformational ensembles.

Design and analyze large structural bioinformatics pipelines

Develop, test, and benchmark algorithms for conformational ensemble modeling

Collaborate with scientists to integrate computational outputs into experimental workflows

MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computational Chemistry, or related field

Experience with machine learning

Strong understanding of structural biology and/or statistical mechanics

Proven ability to build and debug large-scale Python ML systems

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
