- Take guests’ orders.
- Run food.
- Handle cash and other forms of payment.
- Make proficient sales transactions using a point-of-sale system.
- Properly check I.D.s for guests who appear to be under 30 years old.
- Demonstrate responsible alcohol service.
- Demonstrate impeccable product knowledge.
- Use suggestive selling techniques.
- Answer questions accurately and politely.
- Satisfy guests’ needs and regularly follow up with guests throughout their experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, including pre-bussing and table maintenance.
- Perform opening, closing and side duties (setting up/breaking down station, refilling condiments, cleaning ashtrays, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of all table/station numbers.
- Direct guests to areas and restrooms.
- Create memorable experiences and entertain guests to create “Raving Fans.”
- High School diploma or GED.
- Follows all food safety and sanitation procedures. In some U.S. states, a food safety certification program may be required before serving food or alcohol (e.g., a food handler’s card).
- Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
- High level of organization, attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
- Ability to move throughout the facility (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; ability to work with hands above shoulder height.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds; occasional travel or long periods of travel may be required.
- In some U.S. states, a legal minimum age may be required to serve food and alcohol; verify with the interviewer.
- Practicing all general safety standards.
- Maintaining a well-groomed appearance and following uniform guidelines.
- Recycling products where possible.
- Maintaining Hard Rock Café’s core values and mission statement.
