HDR is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist II to work in our Transportation Business Group as a member of our Environmental Sciences and Planning Section, based out of either our Nashville or Brentwood, Tennessee offices.
Responsibilities- Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc.
- Manage a variety of complex environmental projects and programs, coordinating and managing resources needed to deliver technical studies.
- Assimilate and manage data.
- Define the level of environmental analysis required.
- Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods.
- Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
- Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- 10 years of environmental science experience in a variety of contexts.
- TN QHP Certification. li>Local candidates preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong environmental writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
