Job SummaryMonitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guards the security of the Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of security practices and procedures.
- Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelines.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required. Six months of experience working with the public in a security or social service environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements / Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements. Work requires the ability to lift and carry or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting. Work is performed in a normal social service housing environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
