On Call - Armed Security Officer - Grand Ole Opry
Responsible for the armed division of Opry Entertainment Group security. Guards and monitors facilities to prevent theft, violence or other loss.
Responsibilities- Work with Security Department to control access for each event
- Monitor guests for suspicious activity and noncompliant behavior as they enter facilities and events
- Assist guard station with traffic, sign-ins, or credentialing of staff, artists, and other VIP guests needing access to back of house
- Assist with guests who bring weapons or other prohibited items/substances to the facility
- Work with security on disturbances to maintain an orderly and safe event, including ejection from facility and arrest as needed
- Artist relations and safety; assist with backstage and onstage security, providing a visible presence
- Escort artists as needed (e.g., to and from the audience, vehicles, plaza, retail stores). Be discreet; no photos or autographs should be solicited
- Assist with security needs for shows and events
- Monitor potential security issues and communicate with management per venue protocol
- Enforce credential and building policies; report incidents with timely, accurate information
- Coordinate with Metro agencies and first responders on all emergency calls; assess severity and appropriate action
- Assist with building physical security, including magnetic locking systems and cards; ensure regulatory compliance
- Identify potential security risks and suggest procedure/process improvements using training and experience
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background in law enforcement with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete security classroom and on-the-job training

- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete security classroom and on-the-job training
- Actively employed in good standing with a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency
- Must have Davidson County law enforcement jurisdiction
- Will be required to carry a firearm when working a shift
- This position requires a pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates)
