POSITION TITLE: Foreman

CLASSIFICATION: Non‑Exempt

Position Overview: ADB is a nationwide full‑turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including wireline, wireless, ISP, AV, and engineering. ADB is seeking a Foreman to join our wireline team and provide proficient‑level manual labor and equipment operations. The Foreman will lead the installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunication projects. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide proficient‑level manual labor and operations including hand digging, setting up traffic control, entry‑level equipment operations, placing fiber, loading materials, operating equipment, and leading crews on safety‑sensitive utility construction sites.
  • Proficient with utility print and map reading.
  • Has performed at least one year of independent operation of various equipment (directional drill, mini, plow, hydro, etc.) and is fully trained in all safety regulations for operating heavy equipment.
  • Supports and leads the set‑up and shut‑down of utility construction projects, including traffic control in various conditions (highways, side streets, parking lots, downtown locations).
  • Safety is the expectation; always leads and follows the required safety practices while performing safety‑sensitive duties.
  • Communicates professionally with customers, subcontractors, homeowners, and others, addressing any complaints or issues.
  • Trains other construction crew members on fiber installation practices, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Loads and unloads materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and job sites.
  • Leads by example, ensures safety rules and regulations are followed, and can lead others on job sites.
  • Performs on‑the‑job training with Senior Foreman and/or Supervisors to grow skills in the utility construction trade.
  • Leads the culture of identifying hazards by utilizing the pre‑task process.
  • Performs other position duties when requested.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions (sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing).
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, rain, snow, ice).
  • When working on site, requires wearing common protective safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, steel‑toed boots).

Experience and

Education:

  • 2+ years of utility construction experience acting as a crew leader and/or foreman.
  • 1+ year of heavy equipment operating experience (hydro, drill, mini, plow).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL license (or ability to obtain).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The starting pay for this position is $30.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
