- Install, service, test and inspect fire alarm and special hazards suppression systems.
- Install, service, test and inspect exit lighting, access control, intrusion, closed circuit television and other electronic equipment systems.
- Complete timely reports and customer documentation.
- Read and follow blueprints, schematics, drawings and manufacturer’s manuals to test systems.
- Work under other IPS technicians as well as independently when required.
- Follow company mandated safety policies.
- Provide accurate and timely paperwork processing.
- Hold or obtain a Tennessee Fire Alarm license within 90 days.
- Pursue all training options presented.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ohio Fire Alarm License.
- NICET I or higher preferred.
- Background check.
- Integrity and honesty.
- Ability to tolerate diverse customer personalities.
- Excellent people skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Sense of urgency.
- Detail oriented.
- Goal oriented.
- Good written and verbal communications.
- Self‑motivated; work with little supervision.
- Direct and supervise others.
- Good math, language, reading skills; fluent in English.
- Some computer skills; navigate company software, enter data, communicate.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate state licenses.
- 10‑hour OSHA certification.
- First aid, CPR certifications.
- Training for aerial work platforms and articulating boom man‑lifts.
- Good interpersonal skills; communicate courteously with diverse personalities.
- Pass 10‑panel drug screen and random drug testing.
- Clean driving record (no DUIs or serious violations in past 3 years).
- Licensed to drive a company vehicle.
- Stand and walk required.
- Maximum unassisted lift 75 lbs.; average < 35 lbs.
- Bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb ladders; use stairs and other equipment.
- Good eye/hand coordination and mechanical skills.
Work environments may be indoor or outdoor. Exposure to weather, dust, dirt, sunlight, minor exhaust and fuel fumes. High noise levels require hearing protection. Work shoes with steel toe are required. Follow all company safety requirements.
