Sprinkler Service Helper / Apprentice
FULL-TIME

Job DescriptionThe role involves assisting foremen and fitters with the installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of fire sprinkler systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Responsibilities also include learning to read and interpret project drawings, threading and grooving pipe, working with ladders, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Job Responsibilities- Assist foremen and/or fitters with installation, service, and troubleshooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
- Assist foremen and/or fitters with installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Learn and use project drawings to accurately interpret and apply installation requirements and layouts.
- Perform tasks such as threading and grooving pipe, cutting hanger rods, climbing ladders, hanging pipe, reading blueprints, and laying out pipe as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area and use appropriate equipment for specific jobs (tools, lifts, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.

- Follow safety first: submit JSAs, toolbox talks, audit forms; report incidents and accidents timely.
- Hold oneself accountable for safety initiatives, safe driving, and stop work authority.
- Complete all training requirements – safety, certifications, etc.
- Submit accurate timesheets (job numbers, OT, travel pay) on time and support transition to electronic submission.
- Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, and professional with required signatures.
- Manage inventory: review, update, and approve packing slips; manage materials timely.
- Maintain proper maintenance and care of equipment (trucks, lifts, tools).
- Keep jobsites clean and organized.
- Ensure production efficiency: be aware of budget vs. actual labor hours and communicate proactively with superintendent.
- Support and ensure adherence to company SOPs: purchase orders, change orders, etc.
- Demonstrate timeliness: arrive on time, attend, communicate with supervisor, and complete paperwork.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback for improvement opportunities.
- Maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers.
- Teamwork: maintain positive interactions within team and office.
- Actively participate in required team meetings.
- Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on-call as needed.
- Basic math and reading.
- Understand and follow basic safety procedures.
- Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience as a fire sprinkler helper preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Sense of pride, integrity, and organizational ability.
- Enjoy working independently and outdoors.
