Body Shop Technician – Penske

As a Body Shop Technician with Penske, you’ll perform diagnostic procedures and truck and trailer collision repairs, and with supervision some major suspension, electrical, painting and welding repairs. You’ll use industry-leading technology and repair techniques to get our customers' state-of-the-art vehicles back up and running in high-quality condition.

7:00 pm – 5:30 am, Days TBD

• Perform all aspects of truck and trailer repair and maintenance, including overhauls, adjustments, replacements and repairs across Cab/Sheet Metal, Fiberglass, Composite Bonding/Repair, Welding/Fabricating, Frame Straightening/Alignment, Suspension Repair/Alignment, Box Repair/Replacement, Air Conditioning, Electrical/Brake/Cooling, Surface Preparation, and Paint/ Tinting/ Blending.
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units
• Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles when necessary
• Operate with minimal supervision and in a timely, efficient manner
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• 6 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Specialized training and experience in repair/refinish of all series of trucks and trailers
• Proficiency with tools of the trade (including welding, painting, shop machines, and power tools)
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to understand and comply with Penske instructions, guidelines, rules and safety policies (DOT/OSHA)
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential
• DOT-regulated position; current driver qualification file required (MVR checks, DOT Physical, Safety History); CDL holders may require DOT Drug Screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
• Willingness to travel as necessary and submit to background check and drug screening

• Frequent movement; stand, walk, climb, bend and sit for extended periods
• Manual dexterity with controls and tools
• Ability to work safely at heights
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Vision and hearing adequate to navigate the work environment
• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
