Salary Range: $32.00 To $36.00 Annually
Skillforce is hiring a seasoned Commercial HVAC Controls Technician with a strong electrical and low-voltage background. We are looking for an experienced technician who can independently troubleshoot, install, service, start up, and commission HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS) in commercial HVAC environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting, low-voltage control wiring, commercial HVAC systems, control panels and schematics, sensors, actuators, dampers, VAV boxes, thermostats, and building automation systems (BAS).
Shift: 1st shift, 40-45 hours a week
Pay: up to $36, based on experience
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and service HVAC controls on commercial HVAC systems
- Perform electrical troubleshooting of HVAC control circuits, control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, and related components
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage control wiring
- Read and interpret control panels and schematics, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, points lists, and sequences of operation
- Troubleshoot and service building automation systems (BAS) and DDC control system
- Diagnose problems involving sensors, actuators, dampers, VAV boxes, thermostats, relays, contractors, and control devices
- Work with commercial HVAC equipment including air handlers, rooftop units, VAV systems, fans, pumps, and other commercial HVAC systems
- Perform startup and commissioning of HVAC controls and commercial HVAC systems
- Verify proper operation of sensors, actuators, dampers, VAV boxes, and control sequences
- Identify and correct control wiring, communication, programming, and equipment-related issues
- Use electrical test equipment to perform accurate electrical troubleshooting and control-system diagnostics
- Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and other field personnel
- Maintain a safe, professional, and organized work environment
- Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced technicians when needed
Senior Commercial HVAC Controls Technician
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS)
- Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and commercial HVAC control systems
- Experience with low-voltage control wiring and control circuit troubleshooting
- Ability to read and understand control panels and schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC control drawings
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting sensors, actuators, dampers, VAV boxes, thermostats, and control panels
- Experience with startup and commissioning of HVAC controls and commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and accurately identify the root cause of HVAC control problems
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
