Technician – MRI
The MRI Repair Technician performs hands‑on technical work on MRI systems and components, including harvesting, testing, repairing and supporting installation of parts. Typical parts include RF coils, gradient and RF amplifiers, receivers, cold heads, compressors and related subsystems. Working with a high degree of independence, the technician uses sound judgment to diagnose and resolve system and part issues. They also act as a technical resource for the team and contribute to quality and continuous improvement.
Experienced candidates may take on additional responsibilities, such as coordinating MRI work, mentoring junior technicians and serving as a subject‑matter expert.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Harvest, test, repair and disposition MRI parts and subassemblies, including RF coils, gradient and RF amplifiers, receivers and cryogenic components.
- Diagnose and resolve routine and complex system and part issues, escalating as appropriate.
- Interpret test results to determine part functionality, quality and appropriate disposition.
- Support MRI system installation and de‑installation activities.
- Follow all MRI safety protocols, including magnetic field zone restrictions and ferromagnetic screening.
- Serve as a technical resource to the team, and mentor and train less‑experienced technicians as needed.
- Coordinate MRI work and support team priorities as needed.
- Partner with the Modality Lead and cross‑functional teams, escalating complex or non‑standard issues.
- Drive quality, consistency and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Accurately document all work performed, and review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
