POSITION SUMMARY

The Family-Centered Coach works directly with participants in a collaborative process to help identify and achieve children, caregiver, and family goals. Using Family Centered Coaching, the Coach strives to serve the whole family, keeping the participants in the driver’s seat, and centering families as the experts on their own strengths and perceived challenges ahead.

As a member of the MOBC team, this role shares responsibility with all staff in advancing the organization’s mission. Employees are expected to assist with outreach and recruitment, promote MOBC programs and services, support family workshops, participate in community events that build networks and connections, and contribute to organizational efforts that promote the well‑being of families served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads families in Family Coaching and Care Coordination, helping build a team of support that surrounds each family and guides them towards their self‑identified goals.
  • Connects families with needed and available community resources including but not limited to TAEM partner’s services and TAEM’s Navigators and Specialists.
  • Provides holistic and comprehensive services to caregivers including intake assessments, goal setting, long‑term action plan development, progress monitoring (including ASSM and appropriate assessments), advocacy and referrals.
  • Meets with family on a regularly scheduled basis (based on tiers) for 18-36 months on average.
  • Maintains 25 enrolled families at a given time.
  • Conducts home visits as needed.
  • Inputs family participation, progress, and assessments in TAEM’s data system; uses data to make informed decisions and improve family interactions and supports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in fields of Human or Social Services, Education, or related field
  • Two or more years of experience working with families and young children.
  • Non‑profit experience preferred.
  • Training in trauma‑informed care, family‑centered coaching, conscious discipline, and ACES preferred.

  • Computer literate including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing software, email and the internet.
