• Participate and contribute to planning, design, implementation, verification, deployment, and support activities for custom software components and applications.
• May perform task management and mentoring activities for other software engineers.
• Interact directly with engineering team and program management staff to analyze and understand requirements.
• Translate requirements into appropriate technical designs and effectively present designs to software engineering, program management, and other team members.
• Implement requirements into software components and applications according to technical design.
• Unit and component test software components and applications to ensure quality of deliverables.
• Provide input and effort for the technical verification of all technical, functional and corporate requirements prior to delivery.
• Investigate and address requirement violations in functional testing and production software as needed.
• Track and report status of tasks, deliverables, and issues to the software engineering team.
• Adhere to corporate processes and standards for all activities and deliverables during all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Effectively manage multiple task assignments and mentor less experienced team members as appropriate.
• Perform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

• Proficient knowledge of relevant technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languages.
• Proficient knowledge of object-oriented design/development in a real-time environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards impact on software development.
• Experience with Object Oriented development focusing on SOLID principles.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and UML.
• Proficient knowledge of software unit, component, and integration testing principles.
• Proficient knowledge of source code management and defect tracking.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify complex problems and provide multiple solutions.
• Ability to understand, create, and communicate complex design specifications.
• Ability to breakdown assignments into tasks with effort estimates and meet schedules.
• Judgment and logic in decision-making considering costs and benefits.
• Promote corporate ethics and teamwork within the organization.
• Understanding and ability to implement Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
• Experience with C# and Visual Studio (Java as a potential substitute).
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

• WPF/XAML experience is preferred.
• TCP/UDP experience is preferred.
• Hardware/Software API development preferred.
• Azure Dev Ops source control experience and YAML pipeline/release development is a plus.
• Ability to utilize design patterns as appropriate.
• Azure Dev Ops source control (GIT).
• A basic understanding of SOLID principles.
• Experience with multithreaded application development.

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressively advanced object oriented software development experience (commercial or government).
• Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, 8 years of related experience.

• Required to sit for long periods of time.
• Infrequent light physical effort; writing and verbal communication.
• Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
• May require travel via automobile or airplane.
• This is an on-site position.

• Office environment with colleagues nearby.
• Working with computers and other components.
• On-call periodic and outside of normal hours may be required (evenings and weekends).
