Overview
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) builds and manages a suite of massive‑scale, integrated cloud services that support our customers’ most challenging problems. This Software Developer 3 role focuses on Observability—a core OCI team that delivers a world‑class Integrated Observability & Management platform across OCI, other clouds, and on‑premises environments.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for engineers with distributed systems expertise. You will own projects and design major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. Your day‑to‑day work will include:
- Designing, developing, and launching new features into production.
- Operating high‑scale services and improving their resilience.
- Guiding and mentoring other engineers while working independently.
- Collaborating across teams to integrate observability services with logging, monitoring, SIEM, and other components.
- Communicating trade‑offs and executing on solutions that protect our customers’ cloud environment.
The team is rapidly building brand‑new service features. You will help balance technical trade‑offs, communicate design decisions, and enable reliable protection for customers while driving overall growth of Oracle Cloud.
Required Qualifications- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong coding skills in Java, C#, C++ or a similar object‑oriented language.
- Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience building large‑scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.
- Experience operating mission‑critical tier‑one live‑site services.
- Systematic problem‑solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership.
- Design experience that demonstrates deep technical depth and spans multiple products to enable high availability, scalability, and market‑leading features.
- Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark, Lucene, Kubernetes, and other big‑data technologies.
- Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) languages, preferably Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and No
SQL databases.
- Annual salary range: $79,200 – $178,100 (may be eligible for bonus and equity).
