Job SummaryOCI Compute is looking for a versatile developer with a background in cloud services, server technology, and large and complex software systems who can independently own and drive outcomes across the compute organization for high priority programs with large business impact.
Responsibilities- Own software development of significant features in Oracle Compute service offerings.
- Work in Java and be willing to learn new languages as needed.
- Maintain simplicity and scale, collaborate in an agile environment, and lead small teams of developers.
- Deliver high‑quality code and mentor others to grow their capabilities.
- Define and evolve standard practices and procedures within the software engineering division.
- Responsible for designing, developing, and debugging software applications or operating systems.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience or 8+ years with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Strong technical skills with a proven record of designing and developing cloud‑scale and highly available distributed systems.
- Background in operating systems, compute architecture, virtualization, CPU and GPU systems is a plus.
- Strong experience with data structures, algorithms, concurrency, multi‑threading, and object‑oriented design.
- Proficiency in modern languages such as Java, Scala, Go.
- Strong REST API development skills.
- Computer Science fundamentals in object‑oriented design, data structures, and algorithm design.
- 6+ years of total experience with software development programming with at least one object‑oriented coding language such as Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go.
- Systematic problem‑solving approach, strong communication skills, sense of ownership, and drive.
- Experience in building highly‑available and scalable distributed services.
- Experience with microservice design patterns.
- Exhibits behaviors consistent with OCI values.
Hiring range (USD): $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
