As a Principal Software Engineer (IC4), you will be responsible for leading and developing AI powered services that scale OCI operations. You will lead and work with other engineers to implement scalable services/applications, automate deployment processes, and support operational excellence in production environments. • Lead AI Service Development:
  Drive end‑to‑end design and development of AI services tailored for cloud operations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with customer needs.
• Lead Tooling & Infrastructure:
  Implement and standardize tools/frameworks for the team that accelerate software development, experimentation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Champion engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable architectures and designs.

• Help establish and drive the adoption of outstanding coding standards and patterns, and help enhance our inclusive engineering culture.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Assist in deploying and monitoring services using modern cloud‑native tools.
• Learn and apply best practices for building reliable and performant distributed services with 24/7 operational excellence.

• Overall 6‑10+ years of hands‑on software development experience building enterprise services and production‑grade software systems.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers to grow their capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and optimize services/applications in real‑world, mission‑critical environments.
• Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices.
• Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service‑oriented design patterns and service‑to‑service communication protocols.
• Proficiency in writing great code in one or more programming languages:
  Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, LLMs, AI Agents, and cloud‑native architectures.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a bias for action and execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including direct collaboration with enterprise customers and cross‑org teams.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and container‑based deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.

• Experience building AI scalable services/applications for scale.
• Background in cloud operations, Dev Ops, or infrastructure monitoring domains.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or other major cloud platforms.
• Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, MCP, or LLM serving technologies.
• Interest in distributed systems, observability, and scalability challenges.
• Able to operate and lead with ambiguity.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to high‑impact projects.
