Principal Member of Technical Staff – Oracle
Join Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Software Engineering division as a Principal Member of Technical Staff. Your work will focus on designing, developing, and debugging software applications and operating systems at scale within a multi‑tenant cloud environment.
Eligibility: BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, 5+ years of software engineering or related experience. Applicants must be comfortable with distributed systems and high‑availability services.
Responsibilities- Own software design and development for major components of OCI, spanning the entire stack.
- Leverage rule‑based systems, machine learning‑driven alerting, and interactive bots to optimize support costs while delivering a top‑tier support experience.
- Drive development of new projects and features from concept through completion, demonstrating strong ownership and ownership of ambiguity.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to designers, engineers, product managers, and non‑engineers.
- Design and build scalable, high‑performance distributed systems that operate at high scale across a broadly distributed, multi‑tenant cloud environment.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of object‑oriented programming (Java/C++).
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Understanding of internet protocols and standards including SMTP, REST, SSL, and HTTP.
- Experience building multi‑tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- MS in Computer Science.

- Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience delivering and operating large‑scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong grasp of Unix‑like operating systems.
US – Hiring range: $96,800 – $223,400 per year. Eligible for bonus and equity.
