Job Description
As a member of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) software engineering division, you will design, develop, and debug software applications or operating systems. A B.S. or M.S. degree (or equivalent experience) is required, with at least five years of software engineering or related experience. Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team builds new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi‑tenant cloud environment, providing best‑in‑class compute, storage, networking, database, and security services to customers.
The OCI Support organization builds services such as Oracle Support Center and Oracle Support Digital Assistant—cornerstones of the customer experience—addressing complex, large‑scale, connected event platforms. In the OCI Support Tooling team, we develop a scalable platform to meet the expanding needs of Oracle Cloud, optimizing support costs while delivering a top‑tier support experience through rule‑based systems, machine‑learning‑driven alerting, and interactive bots.
We’re looking for hands‑on engineers with expertise and passion for solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. If this is you, at Oracle you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up.

- Communicate clearly—explain complex technical concepts effectively.
- Collaborate well with non‑engineers, leading conversations with designers, engineers, and product managers.
- Handle ambiguity with a strong sense of ownership, driving development of new projects and features to completion.
- Work comfortably at all levels of the stack.
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of object‑oriented programming experience (Java/C++).
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Knowledge of Internet protocols and standards, including SMTP, REST, SSL, and HTTP.
- Understanding of databases, No
SQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies. - Strong troubleshooting and performance‑tuning skills.
- M.S. in Computer Science.
- Experience in a fast‑paced start‑up environment.
- Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka.
- Experience delivering and operating large‑scale, highly available, distributed systems.
- Strong grasp of Unix‑like operating systems.
- Experience building multi‑tenant, virtualized infrastructure—strong plus.
Certain U.S. customer or client‑facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
Range and Benefit InformationUS:
Hiring range in USD from $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
