Oracle is building Streaming Media as a Service, a first‑of‑its‑kind product enabling streaming providers to seamlessly run their content streaming workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This fast‑moving space intersects media and cloud, where innovation directly impacts how millions of people watch live sports, shows, and events every day. As a Software Development Engineer, you will shape the foundation of a brand‑new product line, working on challenges that span high‑scale video delivery, real‑time analytics, and global cloud systems.

As an IC3 engineer, you will play a hands‑on role in designing, implementing, and operating cloud services that power streaming at global scale. You will deliver independently on critical components, contribute to core features, and help ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Alongside your individual contributions, you will have the opportunity to coach and mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and grow your technical leadership within the team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in video streaming technologies while taking on cross‑team projects that expand your impact. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and product teams, gaining exposure to end‑to‑end system design and building the foundation for your long‑term career growth.

We are looking for strong problem solvers who bring curiosity, accountability, and a drive to build resilient cloud services. Prior experience in cloud platforms, distributed systems, or video streaming is a plus, but a willingness to learn and grow is equally important.

Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or related field and 2‑4 years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in cloud services, distributed systems, or media streaming.
  • Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with designing for scalability, reliability, and observability is a plus.
  • Growth mindset, with an eagerness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Independently deliver features and services with high reliability and quality.
  • Design and implement microservices for video playback, transcoding, content delivery, and analytics.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, focusing on scalability, availability, and observability.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to integrate services into larger workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and operational support to maintain high standards.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers by sharing knowledge and providing technical guidance.
  • Explore new technologies and industry practices to enhance product capabilities.

Salary Range (US only): $79,200 – $178,100 per annum (commissions may vary). A bonus and equity may also be payable.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for market variations, location, and experience. Candidates are typically admitted into the range based on preceding factors and internal equity.
