Crypto Director, Platform Software Engineering

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a Director, Software Development to lead the technical direction and execution of foundational OCI security and trust services. This leader will guide engineering teams responsible for identity, authentication, authorization, service-to-service trust, KMS, secrets, KES, PKI, certificates, automation, monitoring, control-plane technologies, operational tooling, and cloud service efficiency. The role combines technical leadership, team development, operational excellence, and cross-functional partnership for services that support OCI’s global cloud footprint and the internal and customer-facing products that depend on them.

OCI is building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for customers that depend on trust, resilience, and operational rigor at global scale. This role offers the opportunity to shape core security and trust foundations, influence engineering practices across OCI, and lead a high-performing organization responsible for services at the heart of customer confidence and cloud reliability. Leads a platform group; develops strategies and plans that standardize runtimes, APIs, and SDKs across several teams.

Accountable for group results and governance adherence; makes operational decisions ensuring compatibility, security, and performance. Sponsors cross-group innovation in resilience, capacity modeling, and interoperability. Communicates with executive leadership on platform health, risk, and adoption.

• Lead and grow engineering teams supporting OCI security and trust services.
• Define and execute technical roadmaps for identity, authentication, authorization, service-to-service trust, KMS, secrets, KES, PKI, and certificates.
• Drive the development of monitoring platforms, automation frameworks, control planes, and operational tooling.
• Partner with OCI, Security, Architecture, and Product organizations to align priorities, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation, observability, engineering excellence, and cloud service efficiency initiatives.
• Develop engineering managers and technical talent across the organization.
• Lead organizational planning, resource allocation, hiring, and team growth.
• Ensure operational readiness, reliability, scalability, and customer-focused outcomes for security-critical cloud services.
• Establish engineering best practices and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and service ownership.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including experience leading managers and multiple engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling engineering teams.
• Experience operating large-scale distributed cloud services.
• Strong systems architecture and operational leadership experience.
• Experience with monitoring, automation, observability, infrastructure platforms, or control-plane technologies.
• Proven ability to drive execution across complex technical and organizational boundaries.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred.

• Define platform strategy for a group, aligning runtimes, SDKs, and integration frameworks to interoperable, multi-tenant standards.
• Govern cross-group compatibility and security controls with SRE/security partners; approve high-risk migrations and deprecations.
