Participate and consistently contribute to planning, design, implementation, verification, deployment, and support activities for custom software components and applications. May perform task management activities for other software engineers.

The Software Engineer, Senior Specialist Level is a senior professional with strong job area knowledge and broad knowledge of project management, managing complex projects and processes with general oversight to achieve operational targets and goals with direct impact on team and departmental results.

• Perform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned
• Mentor less experienced team members as appropriate
• Effectively manage multiple task assignments
• Adhere to corporate processes and standards for all activities and deliverables during all phases of involvement in the software development life cycle
• Track and report status of tasks, deliverables, and issues to software engineering team
• Investigate and address requirement violations in functional testing and production software as needed
• Provide input and effort for the technical verification of all technical, functional and corporate requirements prior to delivery of software components and applications
• Unit and component test software components and applications to ensure quality of deliverables
• Implement requirements into software components and applications according to technical design
• Effectively present technical designs to software engineering, program management, and other team members
• Translate requirements into appropriate technical designs
• Interact directly with engineering team and program management staff to analyze and understand requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• 4 years Experience with C# and Visual Studio required (Java experience a potential substitute), WPF/XAML, principles, practices, and techniques of object-oriented design/development, relevant technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languages

Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance

• Ability to understand and utilize UML (Unified Modeling Language)
• Ability to identify and apply design patterns as appropriate
• Azure Dev Ops source control (GIT) and pipeline development (YAML)
• A strong understanding of SOLID principles
• Experience with multithreaded application development.
