General Description:
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing tactical freight execution, carrier performance, and strategic transportation initiatives. This role partners cross‑functionally to implement programs and develop logistics solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support company growth.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, including carriers, warehousing, sales, and sourcing.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to prioritize initiatives for all customers, ensuring freight requirements are met and delivery efficiency optimized.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and terms with carriers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
- Manage and review departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with company‑wide financial goals.
- Oversee third‑party logistics providers for end‑to‑end execution of less‑than‑truckload (LTL) deliveries.
- Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery rate and carrier performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Support network changes including site start‑ups, production shifts, and customer realignments.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (IATA, IMDG) regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Leverage Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and analytics tools to enhance operational visibility and decision‑making.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
On‑site position with workspace maintained in both office space and warehouse desk. Limited travel may be required.
Position
Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in transportation and freight management.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP platforms.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights using reporting tools.
- Preferred project management experience, including leading cross‑functional initiatives.
