One position for an hourly Production Lead within Press D is now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. The Production Lead works with production team leadership to ensure safety, quality and production goals. This role participates in classroom and on-the-job training to learn the manufacturing process, gain knowledge of each department, and develop leadership and teambuilding skills. The Production Lead will lead the production team during a supervisor's absence and work on special projects and initiatives as assigned.

The wage is $28.04 per hour.

• Responsible for the safety and operation of the shift, including manufacturing specifications, identification of reject material, and quality checks.
• Provide coverage for the production shift supervisor during vacations and other absences.
• Maintain assignments of crew and assign duties as needed.
• Ensure safe and efficient execution of work by teams.
• Ensure job and safety rules are understood and followed by all associates.
• Role model safe work practices.
• Assign and evaluate job performance; provide coaching and timely feedback.
• Participate in and/or lead unit initiatives and other assignments as required.
• Understand the process flow and provide solutions to issues.
• Address safety and housekeeping issues immediately.
• Coordinate with Maintenance during changeovers, work orders, and downtime.
• Participate in crew meetings and offer solutions to achieve metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.

High School/GED

• At least five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong leadership skills and excellent people skills.
• Good planning, organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team-building capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other Microsoft-based programs.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and be ambulatory for most of a 12-hour shift.
• QA competence; resume or detailed work history must be uploaded to be considered.

• Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Business Administration, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Two years of previous key leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in route manufacturing concepts (housekeeping, ergonomics, labor efficiency).
• Experience in wood products manufacturing.
• Experience with LEAN processes.
