As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will support our Electrothermal Engineering team in a mixed design and production environment, delivering premier space flight projects. This role allows you to create and manage flight‑critical hardware designs from initial concept to production. You will work in a highly collaborative team while also providing innovative solutions for advancing space technologies. Candidates should have prior experience in a complex manufacturing environment and a passion for cutting‑edge space exploration.

We deliver both high‑volume and custom, low‑volume production for in‑space propulsion components and systems, alongside pioneering novel technologies.
- Design flight‑critical hardware for space propulsion systems.
- Present and defend design choices and trade‑offs to meet mission and project requirements.
- Perform thermal modeling and analysis to ensure optimal system performance under extreme conditions.
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and manufacturers across multidisciplinary teams.
- Communicate with outside vendors for part fabrication and procurement.
- Create high‑quality engineering drawings and documentation to support production and testing.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, project requirements, and reliability objectives.
- Produce and maintain essential documentation for spaceflight hardware.
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Hands‑on experience in fabrication, assembly, or testing of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with Solid Works and Solid Works PDM (or similar revision control systems).
- Strong working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing processes such as precision welding, brazing, plating, heat treating, or finishing.
- Background in thermal modeling and simulation.
- FEA experience, preferably with ANSYS Mechanical.
- Familiarity with MATLAB for data analysis and simulation.
The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined by the candidate’s experience, education, and alignment with organizational needs.
