Position Summary: Performs professional work in the evaluation, planning and implementation of Therapeutic Recreation programs to increase, maintain or restore functions, maximize or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities. Position requires every other weekend and every other holiday commitment.

• Initiate assessment and develop goal-oriented treatment plans based on patient's individual needs and abilities.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team in the completion of the recreational therapy plan of care, evaluate a patient’s pre-morbid leisure lifestyle, and provide goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure oriented treatment to attain optimum functioning.
• Develop and implement diversionary activity programs as needed.
• Support efforts for patient’s social integration during rehabilitation stay.

• Education: Required:
  Bachelor’s Degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, recreation administration or an equivalent program.
• Experience: Preferred: 1 year Recreation Therapist experience.
• Certifications: Required:
  Must be certification-eligible by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or hold a Master’s Degree in related field (e.g., Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
