Overview

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Summary: Busek is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who is passionate about building, understanding, and improving aerospace hardware. In this role, you’ll get up to speed on our assemblies and test processes—ranging from mechanical assembly and electrical board testing to full-system verification using custom software—and take ownership of driving them into production. This position is ideal for someone who wants to engineer the manufacturing system end-to-end rather than specialize in a narrow portion of the process.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and master current assemblies, test flows, and verification procedures across mechanical, electrical, and system-level builds
  • Perform hands-on assembly and testing work to gain deep understanding of the product and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop, update, and maintain clear manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, assembly procedures, test procedures, and build guides
  • Improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, repeatability, quality, and operator clarity
  • Support root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for build issues, defects, and test failures
  • Lead the migration of documentation and serial tracking from paper/excel to a formal MES system
  • Establish best practices for documentation, traceability, and tracking of manufacturing operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the production floor
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field
  • Hands-on experience working with hardware in production, prototyping, or lab environments
  • Understanding of production and quality best practices
  • Strong curiosity and desire to understand systems from the ground up
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and translate knowledge into structured documentation and process improvements
  • Solid engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
  • Experience with Manufacturo or another MES platform
  • Familiarity with inventory management software
  • Experience working in a cleanroom or handling sensitive hardware
Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Opportunities for professional development
