• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and clientele
• Serv Safe certification strongly preferred, but will train the right candidate

• Assist Cook Supervisor with preparation needs
• Set up serving lines: place pans in hot steam table, move carts with food items, and handle hot pans safely
• Follow standardized recipes and count portions
• Ensure food is labeled and dated appropriately
• Maintain up-to-date time and temperature logs
• Comply with and complete food safety documentation
• Handle cash and make change accurately
• Serve food to students and customers with a positive attitude
• Restock food and supplies, maintaining adequate levels
• Clean and sanitize work and serving areas using cleaning chemicals appropriately
• All other duties deemed necessary by Cook Supervisor, Manager, or Food service Director

• Communicate shortages of food or equipment repairs promptly to Cook Supervisor or Manager
• Adhere to uniform policy and proper sanitary procedures (footwear, hair coverage, hygiene, hand-washing)
• Follow safe food handling procedures per HACCP guidelines
• Contribute to smooth operation of the school cafeteria through customer service and teamwork
• Make reasonable efforts to monitor and reduce food waste
• Maintain compliance with federal and state guidelines, including continuing education as directed by the food service director
