THEOPPORTUNITY
As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is absolutely delicious. You’ll order the food and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders. The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle’s delicious food every day. They keep the kitchen clean, organized and well stocked;
maintain equipment, and serve as a role model for Crew members. At its core, this position promotes teamwork and creates a great customer experience.
- In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures.
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, resolving food quality issues.
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house Crew and front‑of‑house Crew.
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders.
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput.
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; promptly repairing malfunctioning equipment.
- Ensuring that the kitchen and all Crew members meet necessary guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and managing inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
- High school diploma.
- Restaurant experience.

Base pay range: $17.65–$19.64. Actual base pay may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education. Chipotle offers a competitive benefits package.
