FMC Ice Sports, established in 1992, manages high-quality ice sport facilities and programs across Massachusetts, promoting hockey and skating. We operate 25 public ice-skating arenas in partnership with state and local entities.
Position Overview
We are seeking Junior Instructors to support our programs under supervision, assisting with lessons and customer interactions for learn-to-skate, learn-to-play, and figure skating activities. Responsibilities include engaging with participants and ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment.
Essential Duties
- Provide excellent customer service and enforce rink rules.
- Educate patrons on safe ice activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and attend staff meetings.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
This is a part-time role, mainly during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with variable schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience in assisting or teaching skating preferred.
- Proficient skating skills required; figure skaters should have ISI Freestyle 3 or USFS Freeskate 3 certification; hockey players should have league experience.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Compensation:
Pay ranges from $16-$22/hour based on experience and qualifications. Training rate is $16-$20/hour; post-training, pay increases to $18-$22/hour. Non-instructor work is paid at $16/hour.
