HII’s Mission Technologies Division seeks a shipboard Electronics Technician to support fleet modernization on submarines, surface ships, and shore-based communication facilities. Candidates will travel to shipyards and military bases, and may receive per‑diem and travel reimbursement.

• Support the Systems Integrations department on active‑class submarines, surface ships, and shore‑based communication facilities.
• Install, upgrade, remove, and troubleshoot fiber‑optic cables and connectors, including fiber fusion splicing, blow‑fiber, and terminus work.
• Assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization and support contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center and Naval Surface Warfare Center.
• Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others; may lead multiple jobs.
• Develop and use technical documents—controlled work packages, procedures, test documents, reports, and trip reports.
• Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management; perform quality inspections where required.
• Execute duties outside of specialty scope as needed to complete installation or work assignments.

• High school education (or trade school equivalent) and four years of related experience; own hand tools required.
• Current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DBIDS base access.
• Willingness to travel when not assigned to local tasks.
• Experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting fiber‑optic cables and multi‑pin connectors on Navy or other marine vessels.
• Fiber fusion splicing experience.
• Blow‑fiber and terminus experience.

• Experience with large NIWC/SPAWAR integrated installation contracts.
• Experience in Shore C4I deployments.
• Certified in Fiber Optic and Multi‑pin Connector technologies.
• Prior Quality Assurance certifications.
• Shipyard Competent Person (SCP) certification.
• Prior AIT or active duty experience on current active‑class ships.
• Current U.S. travel passport.

Must lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (minimum 30 lbs). Must be able to work on ladders, in extreme temperatures, aboard ships, in shipyards, and in confined spaces. May need to ride ships at sea for extended periods and wear a respirator. Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required.
