Plant Sanitation / Facility Assistant / Warehouse / Production (Cleaning, Shipping & Receiving)
Apply for the Plant Sanitation / Facility Assistant / Warehouse / Production (Cleaning, Shipping & Receiving) role position will spend 50% of the time on cleaning and sanitation, 50% on shipping and receiving, with occasional flex to production as needed.
Primary Functions
- Cleaning/Sanitation
- Washing of all production floors and walls (daily or as needed)
- Cleaning of overhead ducts and area above washable walls (2x per year)
- Cleaning of sanitation mats
- Cleaning of warehouse floor and maintenance area
- Daily sanitation (trash removal) in production and warehouse areas, place in collection bin
- Monthly cleaning of spiral duct work in production area
- Clean machine shop floor once per month
- Warehouse
- Clean the floors (2x per month)
- Clean the racks (annually)
- Pest Control
- Manage the pest control program
- Conduct weekly inspections of Tincat devices and bug lights and document findings; replace as needed.
- Report nonconformances to QA Manager
- Cleaning reagents and chemical inventory
- Maintain inventory of cleaning reagents and order as needed
- Monitor bleach solution concentration (daily or as needed)
- Weekly monitor soap dispensers, hand sanitizers, paper goods and PPE; reorder supplies with office staff
- Sanitation checks
- Oversee sanitation program as Sanitation Supervisor
- Perform weekly sanitation inspections and record findings
- Report nonconformances to QA Manager
- Shipping & Receiving
- Assist unloading shipping containers and loading outbound orders onto trucks
- Pick orders and build outbound pallets of customer orders
- Pick materials for production orders
- Check orders and perform various shipping/receiving functions
Sesecondary Functions
- Production
- Weigh and load ingredients into machines per batch record instructions
- Milling and packing of finished products
- Metal detecting packed finished products
- Prepare trays and cartons for packing
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment (blenders, granulators, mills, etc.)
- Stage utensils for manufacturing
- Load products onto trays for drying
- Assist in milling products
- Packaging and Labeling
- Weigh and pack finished products
- Apply labels on packaged product containers
- Procedures
- Follow written SOPs at all stages of manufacturing
- Follow proper hygiene and safety protocols as per written procedures
- Document cleaning on logs for all equipment
Other Duties As Assigned
- Must be able to safely lift 60 lbs.
Job Qualifications
- High school degree required; associate’s and/or trade degree a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and car required.
- 1-3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, organized, good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift certification a plus.
