Location:
Naugatuck, CT (100% Onsite)
Compensation: $17.00/hr. to start.
Join our customer’s team in Naugatuck, CT, helping build robust fiber optic solutions designed for the world’s toughest environments. Our client is a leader in harsh environment interconnect technologies, designing and manufacturing heavy-duty fiber optic connectors and cable assemblies for over 25 years. Their products are built to perform under extreme conditions—from military tactical deployments to offshore oil rigs.
As a Mechanical Assembler, you'll play a key role in assembling specialized data transfer connectors and cable assemblies built for reliability, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature performance. All products are 100% inspected under a rigorous Quality Management System to ensure flawless results.
Responsibilities- Assembles mechanical / fiber parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line.
- Review raw material identification and traceability.
- Reads and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble copper and fiber connectors and assemblies.
- Prepares and cuts cable and performs fiber and copper cable termination using a selection of hand tools, soldering equipment, heat guns to ensure the products meet quality standards.
- Perform quality work checks.
- Operate epoxy or mold dispensing systems, automated crimping and cable stripping equipment, fiber polishing equipment and inspection equipment.
- Maintains a clean workstation and safe work area.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have one plus years of experience to include internship, project, lab or related experience working with copper connectors.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical symbols, schematics, drawings, blueprints and/or customer specifications.
- Hands on mechanical skills and competence in using a variety of hand tools and equipment, such as strippers, crimpers, heat guns, soldering iron, micrometers, calipers, taper measures, etc.
- Willingness to learn and pay attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Fluent in writing, reading, and understanding English.
- Must be able to work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Successful candidates will be subject to maintaining a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Successful candidate will be subject to complete and maintain a successful drug screen, background check and MVR.
- AS Degree in ME, EE, or related scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Production related experience with Fiber Optic or copper cables desired.

- Must possess manual dexterity in hands, fingers, and arms to effectively operate power tools, controls, and specialized equipment.
