Job Summary
The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring inventory shortages remain at or below store goals, and maximizing store sales by receiving and shipping freight in a timely manner. The TM Receiver interacts with customers and team members, supports selling initiatives, and delivers a Legendary Customer Experience. The role also promotes a safe and productive work environment for all team members, customers, and vendors while adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Min 5%)- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts; be flexible to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as directed by business needs.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
- Greet the customer.
- Uncover customer’s needs and wants.
- Recommend product solutions.
- Ask to add value and appreciate the customer.
- Perform core duties during 95% of the shift, which may include:
- Manage inbound and outbound freight processing.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and uphold loss prevention standards.
- Recover merchandise and participate in mandatory freight processes.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Stock, recover, and tag assigned work areas, including merchandise displayed outside the store.
- Operate the cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
- Provide a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from competitors.
- Rotate and disposition dated products, assemble merchandise, operate forklift and cardboard baler.
- Sanitize poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.
- Complete all pertinent documentation and obtain required licenses or certifications.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Preferred:
Shipping/receiving experience, retail experience, farming/ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge. - High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; regardless of education level, the candidate must read, write, and count accurately.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict.
- Office and indoor environment with moderate noise levels.
- Shift lengths vary; typically at least 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots of hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt). Adequate lighting and temperature.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for team members and customers while adhering to company safety training and guidelines.
- Non-sedentary work; constant movement throughout store and outdoor areas.
- Must operate forklift, pallet jack, and other store equipment.
- Ability to lift/push up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
- Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Ability to process information through the point‑of‑sale system and handle birds/poultry as required.
- Must complete all required training and certification; propane dispensing and related training apply to candidates 18 or older.
- Ability to travel as required for district support.
