Job Description :
To manage the comprehensive scope of student affairs, ensuring student development,
welfare, and a vibrant campus culture. This involves overseeing student
clubs/engagement, leading core welfare services (safety/security, Mental Health, and
Mediclaim/PA policies), and providing strategic oversight for the departmental budget,
Student Feedback systems, regulatory compliance (PoSH, D&I), and Conflict Resolution
Strategic Planning & Monitoring:
- Formulate and evolve the strategic plans for Student Affairs, integrating
departmental goals with overall institutional strategy and academic plans to ensure
the successful achievement of Jio Institute s core mission.
People Management :
- Lead and develop the departmental team, managing all aspects of recruitment,
training, development, and performance to build a highly competent and committed
Student Affairs function
Direct daily operations, providing expert guidance and ensuring work processes are
aligned to foster strong teamwork and achieve departmental objectives in an
engaged and motivated environment.
Internal publications :
- Monitor and ensure the quality and timely release of all internal publications and
bulletins related to student affairs, guaranteeing the availability of accurate and
necessary information.
Student Life & Engagement :
- Develop, plan, and execute a vibrant calendar of social, cultural, and recreational
activities to enhance student life. Promote broad student participation in these
Policies, Systems, & Procedures :
- Establish and govern all Student Affairs functional policies, systems, and processes.
Ensure the consistent implementation of these procedures to meet all relevant
legislative requirements while maintaining a high standard of quality and cost
- effective service delivery.
Student Affairs Liaison & Advocacy :
- Represent the division of Student Affairs at the institutional level, serving as the
primary liaison to the Office of the Project Director. Oversee administrative advisory
committees relevant to students and facilitate campus stewardship by promoting an
atmosphere of inclusiveness and support for the diverse student body. Collaborate
with cross-function heads to address complex student-related concerns and propose
alternative solutions to the ultimate decision-making authority.
Internationalization :
- Study Abroad Module:
Support the Office of Academic Services in the
comprehensive execution of the Study Abroad Module, including creating and
signing agreements, and providing extensive logistic support (students’ air tickets,
visas, travel insurance, and hotel finalization).
Global Partnerships:
Actively arrange and facilitate visits of foreign delegations for
potential collaborations and the signing of MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding).
Program Promotion:
Pitch and promote short-term India Immersion Programmes for
international students, and promote collaboration with international institutions for
various initiatives, including student exchange programmes, faculty exchange,
executive education programs, and summer and winter school programmes.
