Options Resourcing are currently working with one of the UK's most successful construction companies to find a senior quantity surveyor to join the company in a permanent position. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working with large contractors for a variety of projects ranging from education to student accommodation and defence.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for:

  • Manage and oversee all cost management aspects of the project, from inception to completion.
  • Prepare, analyse, and review cost estimates, budgets, and tender/pre-construction documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice to minimize project risks.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage procurement processes, and oversee supplier and subcontractor agreements.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare valuations, and handle interim and final accounts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring high-quality delivery and professional development.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • A day will typically include managing all commercial and financial aspects of our client's high-profile contract and being responsible for the commercial team to ensure effective cost control as well as value for money from the supply and sub-contract chain and timely delivery of the project.

    Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control processes, and procurement strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven, demonstrable ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools.
