Job summary

We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare and will liaise with the partners where appropriate to ensure continuity of care. The candidate must be fully registered with the General Medical Council, have suitable medical indemnity insurance, and be listed on the performers list for general medical services.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of a team, dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.

Victoria Gardens Surgery is a supportive friendly 4 partner training practice, situated in Neath Town Centre close to the train and bus stations.

We are a team of dedicated, caring and enthusiastic clinicians, who work closely together to provide excellent health care to our patient. We are committed to maintaining an environment that supports each other, as well as the Salaried GPs, GP trainees and practice Nurses.

Job responsibilities

In accordance with the Practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, reviewing results and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans.
