A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 10 year old boy living in Llanharan with my mum and older brother. I have a diagnosis of ASD, which means that I have no sense of danger and am always full of energy. When out, I always wear a child-safety harness to prevent me darting into traffic. As a result family outings can be difficult to manage for my mum.

I love being outdoors, particularly places like the park where I can run free. I also like walking, climbing, playing in/with water, swimming, trucks and trains.

Take me out to enjoy local activities and ensuring my safety at all times.

Mainly out and about in the community.

8 hours a week (term time) 12 hours a week (school holidays)

£13.25 per hour
40p mileage allowance

• Taking me to local parks, play centres or leisure centres
• Watching me closely to ensure I am safe at all times, make sure I wear my safety harness every time we go out
• Helping me to cross roads safely
• Helping to keep me occupied so that my mum can spend quality time with my brother also
• There is a small amount of personal care involved as I am still learning to use the toilet
• On occasion you will join on family outings

• Experience of dealing with young children with additional needs would be an advantage
• Punctual – Turn up on time and must be sure to let us know in advance if running late for any reason

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
