Teacher Active is working in partnership with a Further Education college in Neath to recruit a Carpentry and Joinery Technician to join its construction department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical industry experience who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and helping students develop their skills in the trade.

️ The Role

As a Carpentry and Joinery Technician, you will play a key role in supporting lecturers and students by ensuring the workshop is safe, organised and fully equipped for practical learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing tools, materials and equipment for practical lessons.

Maintaining woodworking tools, machinery and workshop equipment.

Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Supporting lecturers and students during practical sessions.

Helping to create a safe, well-organised and effective learning environment.

✅ What We're Looking For

The ideal Carpentry and Joinery Technician will have:

A relevant qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.

Practical experience within the carpentry and joinery industry.

Experience using and maintaining woodworking tools, machinery and workshop equipment.

A strong understanding of workshop health and safety procedures.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prepare materials efficiently.

A positive, flexible and proactive approach to supporting both staff and students.
