Strategic Transport Planner

Our client, a key player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Strategic Transport Planner to join their team. This contract position focuses on providing expert highway advisory services for significant development proposals, with a particular emphasis on the Parkway Garden Town Development and other major sites within the Development Plan.

• Acting as the expert highway advisor for the Council on strategic development proposals
• Providing dedicated transport planning and highways development management support
• Ensuring the planning and delivery of high-quality, sustainable transport infrastructure
• Collaborating with internal and external teams including Planning Policy, Development Management, and Infrastructure Delivery
• Working in partnership with National Highways and developers
• Providing specialist highway development management advice on pre‑application enquiries and planning applications
• Supporting the strategic allocations and major development sites within the Development Plan

• Experience in transport planning
• Understanding of highways development management
• Knowledge of sustainable transport infrastructure planning
• Strong collaborative skills for working with internal and external teams
• Ability to provide specialist advice on strategic and major development sites
