Management Accountant

Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. The role is crucial in maintaining the financial records of the organisation, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded, control accounts are reconciled, and cash is accounted for. The successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager in upholding professional standards within the finance function. Key responsibilities include completing various month-end tasks within set deadlines, reconciling inter-company control accounts, and developing comprehensive financial reports.

The role also involves maintaining effective internal controls and supporting operational aspects of the business with financial insights. • Complete various month-end tasks, including reconciling all inter-company control accounts and several balance sheet accounts by set deadlines.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements.
• Assist in implementing internal policies.
• Prepare accurate weekly flash reports and monthly Management Accounts within deadlines.
• Develop KPIs and management information to aid business decision-making.
• Maintain adequate and effective internal controls for operational efficiency.
• Complete timely statutory returns, including GST, IT IS, and Social Security.
• Maintain the Chart of Accounts, updating and amending when necessary.
• Support the development and maintenance of various IT systems.
• Review systems and procedures, offering suggestions for improvement.
• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the annual statutory accounts within deadlines.
• Prepare the annual budget and associated reforecasts.
• Provide financial support to key operational staff and assist other team members with administration tasks when required.
• Undertake any other duties as requested by the Finance Manager.

• Qualification by experience is considered or partially qualified.
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player, capable of effective communication with all levels of staff.
• Experience in a Commercial Accounting Environment.
• Knowledge of Net Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
