Employment Type:

About Us

We are a fast-growing litigation funder providing non-recourse finance to law firms and legal service providers across the UK. Our work spans a wide range of legal sectors—from financial mis‑selling and data protection to housing disrepair, consumer claims, and more. By funding and monitoring these cases, we help law firms pursue meritorious claims while managing their cash flow and risk.

The Role

As the business grows, our internal audit function is evolving into a dedicated department and forms a core part of our monitoring framework. Audits provide a valuable window into borrower behaviour, operational standards, and emerging risks across the portfolio.

This role will work closely with the Internal Auditor and Head of Operations to support the audit function as it scales. The focus is on supporting established processes, producing consistent and high‑quality audit outputs, and ensuring insights from case‑level reviews feed into wider monitoring and oversight.

The emphasis in this role is on mindset rather than background. You do not need a legal qualification or prior audit experience. What matters is an analytical and sceptical approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build a clear story from information. You will be expected to question data and documentation and flag when something does not make sense.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the claims we fund meet internal and regulatory standards, helping to ensure commercial viability, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review legal case files across different areas of civil litigation to assess compliance with funding criteria and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct audits of ongoing and completed cases to identify any risks, anomalies, or procedural issues.
  • Collaborate with borrower relations, underwriting, and finance teams to evaluate the completeness and viability of cases.
  • Communicate with law firms to clarify inconsistencies, highlight missing information, and ensure audit findings are actioned.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal audit processes and checklists.
  • Stay informed of changes in the legal landscape that may impact funding eligibility or case progression.
Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a naturally analytical and sceptical mindset who enjoys understanding how things really work. You may not come from a legal background, and prior audit experience is not essential. What matters most is how you think, how you interrogate information, and how comfortable you are forming a view based on evidence.

This role suits someone who:

  • Questions information rather than taking it at face value.
  • Enjoys building a clear narrative from data, documents, and case information.
  • Notices when something does not quite add up and is confident in flagging it.
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy and consistency.
  • Is methodical, organised, and comfortable working through structured processes.
  • Is curious and motivated to understand unfamiliar subject matter.
  • Can communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders, including preparing information used for Investment Committee discussions.

You do not need a formal legal background. Full training will be provided, and you will work closely with an experienced Internal Auditor who will guide how audits are approached and how judgement is applied. This role is well‑suited to someone early in their career, or someone transitioning into audit, monitoring, or risk‑focused work, who is keen to develop strong analytical habits and commercial awareness.

Why

Join Us?

Unlike traditional legal experience, where you may be confined to one area of law within one firm, this role gives you exposure to multiple areas of litigation across a broad panel of law firms, each with their own unique approaches to case handling, client management, and operations.

  • Full training will be provided.
  • Flexible working hours
  • End‑of‑year bonus based on personal and company performance.
  • Gain insights into a wide variety of legal claim types and funding models.
  • Build practical experience in both law and finance.
  • Develop a strong understanding of risk, compliance, and case viability.
  • Contribute to a growing sector where legal knowledge and commercial awareness intersect.
  • Work in a flexible, supportive environment that values initiative and learning.
