Regional Operations Manager – Nursing Homes

Location: South England

Salary: £75,000+ per year + Bonus Scheme

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of nursing homes in the South of England. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and high-quality care delivery across multiple services.

The role involves working closely with Home Managers to support them in running safe, person‑centred, and efficient services while meeting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership and support across multiple nursing homes in the region
  • Coach, mentor, and manage Home Managers to ensure high standards of care and compliance
  • Ensure services are fully compliant with CQC regulations and other relevant legislation
  • Drive occupancy, quality ratings, and financial performance of all homes in your portfolio
  • Monitor KPIs including staffing, budgets, agency usage, and care quality
  • Lead action plans following inspections, audits, and performance reviews
  • Support recruitment, retention, and workforce development strategies
  • Oversee safeguarding, incidents, and risk management regionally
  • Promote a positive culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a multi‑site or regional management role within nursing homes
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to improve service performance and inspection outcomes
  • Financial acumen: experience managing budgets, occupancy, and operational metrics
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between homes in the region
  • NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in Leadership for Health & Social Care
  • Experience managing nursing homes rated Requires Improvement and improving them
  • Background in elderly care services
  • Nursing Qualification
