Contract Type: Permanent
Salary / Benefits: Salary £40 - £45k
Job Elements- Ensure compliance with the required quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, customer-specific requirements).
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, and control plans for new and existing products.
- Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead investigations into internal non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and achievable.
- Participate in design reviews, process validation, and production readiness activities.
- Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis using Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques where appropriate.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and assist in maintaining audit readiness.
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support supplier development initiatives.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and customers as required.
- Ensure calibration, inspection, and testing activities are conducted in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Experience with in the automotive, aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
- Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and quality assurance principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience using quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, SPC, MSA, and PPAP (where applicable).
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above).
- Internal Auditor qualification.
