About the role:
We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Support and Resettlement Assistant. The role is a frontline/community‑based position within the Emergency Accommodation Support Team, part of the Homelessness Assessment, Prevention and Support Service (HAPSS). Your primary responsibilities will include providing practical housing and tenancy‑related support to households in interim accommodation, ensuring a safe living environment, and traveling throughout Neath Port Talbot and surrounding local authorities.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external services and rely on initiative, supported by regular supervision and strong teamwork.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver tenancy support and advice to individuals and families in emergency accommodation.
- Assist households with access to further support services and resources.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of support provided.
- Travel across Neath Port Talbot and to other local authority areas as required.
- Use IT skills to submit reports, manage databases and communicate with partners.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grades A‑C).
- Experience in a tenancy support setting, advice service or social care role.
- Knowledge of issues affecting homeless households and ability to support individuals in overcoming these problems.
- Proficient IT skills for data entry, reporting and communication.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
