We are seeking highly skilled Acciona wind technicians to work onsite at our Rattlesnake Creek Wind Site in Allen, NE.

This is an onsite position at our Rattlesnake Creek Wind Site in Allen, NE.
The OpportunityWe are looking for Acciona Wind Technicians with expert-level proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of Acciona Wind Turbines. Candidates must be fully versed in turbine schematics, control systems, SCADA, SGCS, diagnostic tools, equipment, parts, and controllers, with proven experience in major component repairs and replacements. As senior level technicians, team members also serve as mentors, sharing their deep technical knowledge and supporting the development of junior technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality turbine operations.
WhatYou’ll Do at Enel
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis on Acciona wind turbine systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic subsystems.
- Lead or assist in the replacement of major components such as gearboxes, generators, blades, and transformers.
- Ensure compliance with OEM specifications and engineering standards during minor and major component swaps.
- Analyze and interpret advanced technical documentation, including electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and control system logic specific to Acciona turbine platforms.
- Utilize SCADA systems and diagnostic software to monitor turbine performance and identify anomalies.
- Utilize OEM‑specific diagnostic tools to identify and resolve performance anomalies.
- Conduct scheduled and corrective maintenance to ensure turbine availability and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair turbine inefficiencies seen in the turbine power curve data.
- Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and safety documentation (e.g., LOTO, JSA).
- Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to implement proactive maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support balance‑of‑plant (BOP) operations, including substations, switchyards, and communication systems.
- Participate in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspections and audits.
- Travel to regional sites (up to 25%) and respond to emergency maintenance needs on a 24/7 basis.
- Comply with all HSEQ policies and procedures (ISO
9001/ISO
14001/ISO
45001). - Assist with inventory control and BOP activities as needed.
- Participate in on‑the‑job training and complete all required training satisfactorily.
- Will support regional Wind Maintenance activities as needed.
- Will assist with QA/QC activities.
- Work in conjunction with Technical Support for proactive repairs.
- Comply with all HSEQ policies and procedures (ISO
9001/ISO
14001/ISO
18001). - Assist with inventory control as needed.
- At times may assist with BOP activities.
- Participate in on‑the‑job training and other training off site.
- Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, with at least 4 years on Acciona platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing low‑ and medium‑voltage systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools (e.g., DMMs, meggers, torque tools) and SCADA platforms.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 100+ meters multiple times per week.
- Must meet ANSI Fall Protection Standards for weight and safety.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written);
Spanish proficiency is a plus. - OEM training or certification on Acciona wind turbine models (e.g., AW‑1500, AW‑3000).
