Performs engineering tasks under moderate guidance that are varied and moderately difficult, requiring troubleshooting, data interpretation, development of new test methods or procedures, and application across various situations. Assists in the development, execution, and organization of detailed design development as part of major projects with a moderate scope.
Job Responsibilities- Work in new product development under a lead engineer
- Design sub-systems for new products and propose multiple design solutions for review and selection
- Create costed Bill of Materials (BOM) to assist analysis
- Perform static FEA modeling and CFD analysis
- Assist in assembling prototypes and testing new designs
- Conduct and specify moderately complex tests to address customer concerns; prepare technical reports based on results
- Apply advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques to resolve issues
- Follow new product development processes, including concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production, and post-launch steps; suggest manufacturing methods during design and modifications based on cost and design studies
- Modify analysis techniques as needed for complex problems
- Compile and analyze test results, draw conclusions, and recommend actions
- Serve as liaison between engineering and manufacturing departments
- Support supplier selection and interactions
- Recommend improvements or modifications to operations, equipment utilization, and related areas
- Contribute to the development of engineering test standards where applicable
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures, and internal standards
- Understanding of engineering systems
- Knowledge of company and competitor products, and technical capabilities of suppliers
- Familiarity with company processes, especially new product development
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication skills for technical reporting
- Experience with Solid Works CAD is a plus but not required
- Fluency in English and the primary language of the area of responsibility
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience Requirements- Minimum of three years of professional engineering experience
May require scheduled or urgent travel to review applications, discuss problems, visit suppliers/customers, attend trade shows, etc.
