SUMMARYTo design and oversee the manufacturing of products. Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines such as electric generators, power-using machines, such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
Mechanical engineers use computers extensively. Computers help mechanical engineers create and analyze designs, run simulations and test how a machine is likely to work, and generate specifications for parts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Embrace and support Corporate policies and procedures
- Analyze problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve the problem
- Design or redesign mechanical and thermal devices using analysis and computer-aided design
- Develop and test prototypes of devices they design
- Analyze the test results and change the design as needed
- Oversee the manufacturing process for the device
- Work collaboratively with other engineers, production personnel, purchasing personnel, and customers to create optimal solutions to support the business.
- Demonstrate a desire to support engineering’s customers (production, sales, purchasing teams, etc).
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college.
Additional requirements include 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and demonstration of knowledge in CAD systems such as Solidworks, Cadra, Auto Cad or Unigraphics. Additional skills in FMEA, FEA, CFD, Lean/Sigma, DFSS would be a plus. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other database management tools.
