• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
• Monitor project’s budget, schedule, and work quality
• Perform field inspections by visiting job sites regularly and for extended periods; report on project progress
• Assist in developing plant project construction, start‑up and maintenance procedures, and training requirements for newly installed systems
• Understand contract requirements and negotiation, building code requirements, construction inspection procedures, process area methods, and plant electrical requirements
• Coordinate construction inspection and testing activities; identify deficiencies and act to rectify them
• Assist in developing standard specifications for construction projects and contract documents
• Ensure that assigned contractors for projects conform to required health and safety procedures and practices
• Evaluate and review third‑party engineering conceptual designs, quotations, and drawings for accuracy and communicate deficiencies for resolution in the company’s best interest
• Assist in developing and implementing training for standard software packages used in the project management process
• Contribute to feasibility studies
• Interact with both construction workers and upper management
• Negotiate effectively any commercial, construction, and technical disputes
• Participate in relevant professional associations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), PCA, and American Concrete Institute (ACI)
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

• 4‑year degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, mining, electronic instrumentation and technology or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years managing projects in heavy construction and/or process industry
• Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Proficient written, verbal communication, and listening skills in English
• Ability to effectively negotiate
• Ability to use analytical skills to apply mathematical methods to solve a variety of engineering problems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products, and other relevant software packages
• Application of building codes and understanding of the permitting process
• Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
• Ability to work from general supervision with specified standard practices and policies, and seek supervisor only when necessary
• Travel requirements up to 50%
